I have always had a passion for animals, exercise and helping others. Until recently, I wasn't aware of any careers in the animal field that didn't involve working in a vet office. So, I started towards my other passion: exercise/rehabilitation.
I received my BS in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Athletic Training at NIU. I started my professional career in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training with people. Later in my career, I discovered there was a way I could incorporate all of my interests in one job. I decided to follow through with my love for animals and further my education. I went through extensive training at Healing Oasis Wellness Center and became certified in Veterinary Massage and Rehab Therapy (CVMRT). I then began working as an Animal Rehab Therapist at Integrative Pet Care. I continued to expand my knowledge and completed the Advanced Canine Massage Therapy program at Chicago School of Canine Massage. After I graduated, I sat for the National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure and Massage and became a Nationally Certified Practitioner (NCCMT). I also got certified in Pet CPR & First Aid through Pet Tech and became a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner through Reiki master Elaine Anderson.
Along with Physio Pet Massage, I am now an Assistant Instructor at Canis Bodyworks (formerly Chicago School of Canine Massage). I also volunteer at West Suburban Humane Society, and try to provide comfort to the shelter animals with massage and Reiki. I followed my passion for animals, exercise and rehab and made a living out of it. I never thought I could integrate all of my interests into a career!
